CeRAM is a consulting firm registered in Nigeria and founded by Professor Anthony Ikpi in 2001.

It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Ibadan, Nigeria with a primary focus on research and policy within the agribusiness sector.

 

 

Services

CeRAM offers the following major services:

  • Conduct specific and requested field studies on agriculture, agribusinesses, nutrition, health, hunger and other agriculture chain-link activities in Africa;
  • Provide research reports on completed studies;
  • Provide policy analysis expertise and training to targeted public servants and private-sector executives by developing, building and improving their managerial and policy-analysis capacities;
  • Organize training workshops for African policy researchers and policy makers with a view to improving their capacity to analyze macro and sector policies;
  • Develop proposals used to source financing for various projects that can integrate individuals, organizations, and institutions that aim at cooperating for the common good;
  • Integrate technological advances with agricultural enterprise development;
  • Provide strategies and guidance on improving general health and nutrition components as related to agriculture;
  • Perform any other community services that CeRAM’s Trustees deem beneficial and valuable to Africa’s general development.

About A.E Ikpi

Professor Anthony Ikpi is a well-rounded and resourceful agricultural economist with an in-depth understanding of development processes and substantial research experience in African agriculture, environment, and natural resources management.

He possesses strong analytical & conceptual skills with particular experience in public policy analysis & advice, agribusiness planning & management, agricultural & rural development projects evaluation, and impact studies on public & private sector investments.

He possesses an elastic capacity and charisma to work amicably with colleagues and subordinates to achieve set targets. He has demonstrated qualities in managerial leadership, organizational and team-building skills, training, and resource mobilization. His excellent oral and written communication skills have enabled him to create thought-provoking reports and to translate economic analyses into relevant implementable policies and strategies.

He has a broad knowledge of and experience with the United Nations (UN), Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CIGAR), international aid and development agencies, and the university system. For over 36 years, he has developed, maintained and administered pan-African networks and collaborative arrangements with a wide range of partners including government, private sector, NGOs, UN system, academia, donor agencies, and the media.

He has extensive experience in proposal development and presentation processes to the donor community for funding research networks and other development programs. In addition, he has vast working knowledge and experience with international donors and multilateral banks, and the external assessment of public and private institutions/agencies.

His extensive experience in research and analysis of crop and livestock farming systems across agro-ecological zones (especially of West Africa) make him one of the most sought after Agri-business experts.

He is a Life Fellow of the African Association of Agricultural Economists, (AAAE).
